Supporting Each Other During the COVID-19 Pandemic

There's no doubt that this last month has been difficult for pretty much everyone, and as things currently stand, it looks like April isn't going to be much different. Society is on lockdown to an unprecedented degree. Many people have been laid-off, and many others are understandably concerned about their own health or the health of their loved ones.

This is an important moment in history. When you look back, what do you want to be able to say? We can't speak for you, but we know what our answer is — we want to be able to say that we tried as hard as possible to support our fellow man during this pandemic.

But everybody has the power to do some good during the COVID-19 pandemic; you don't need to have the money, manpower, or infrastructure of an established business. Here are some ways that we can all support each other until we weather this storm.

    Support Local Businesses

Many people are struggling financially during this crisis, especially small business owners. If you're able, consider supporting local businesses by ordering takeout, purchasing gift cards, or shopping online from local retailers.

    Check On Your Neighbors

A simple phone call or text message can make a big difference for someone who is isolated or anxious. Check in on elderly neighbors, friends living alone, or anyone who might need extra support during this time.

    Follow Health Guidelines

One of the most important things we can all do is follow public health guidelines. Social distancing, wearing masks, and practicing good hygiene helps protect everyone in our community, especially the most vulnerable.

    Be Kind Online

With so much time spent online, it's important to be mindful of how we interact on social media. Share accurate information, be supportive, and avoid spreading panic or misinformation.

    Look for Silver Linings

While this is undoubtedly a challenging time, there are also opportunities for growth and connection. Many people are spending more quality time with family, learning new skills, or finding creative ways to stay connected with loved ones.
